Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta SARAÇ
Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç was born in İstanbul on 21.03.1963. He completed his BA in the department of Turkish Language and Literature, Faculty of Literature at İstanbul University (IU) in 1985. He became a research assistant in the department of Turkish Language and Literature, IU Faculty of Literature on 03.12.1985.
After completing his doctoral education at the same university in 1991, he received the titles of assistant professor on 25.06.1992 and associate professor on 04.10.1994, respectively. He became professor in 2000. He worked at Eastern Mediterranean University (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) in the academic year of 2005-2006.
He was assigned to General Assembly member in CoHE on 19.10.2005. Afterwards, he was appointed to the same position for the second time on 19.10.2010. Prof. Dr M. A. Yekta Saraç, working as an Executive Board member since 13.03.2008 and CoHE Deputy Chairman since 21.01.2010, was assigned as Chairman of the Council of Higher Education on 11.11.2014.
Prof. Dr. M.A. Yekta Saraç, having 8 published books and articles published in a number of journals, has specialization in old Turkish Literature, text review, and rhetoric.
